A transistor control circuit is implemented in the linear regulated 5V power supply units. These 5V power supply units have a high control accuracy and fast settling time. However, the high voltage stability and the extremely low residual ripple are bought by an unfavourable efficiency compared to other concepts. These linearly regulated 5V power supply units are excellently suited for supplying higher-quality electronic circuits where, among other things, low residual ripple is important.
